About Me

buying and preparing bulk meals for large groups

I work as the head cook of a family campground. Our campground includes three meals and two snacks each day in the mess hall. In order for us to keep our rates low, part of my job is to purchase the food as affordably as possible and create tasty dishes for the guests staying on the grounds. I created this blog as a way to sort through my own thoughts and to help other organizations find affordable ways to purchase and prepare meals for large groups of people. Hopefully, you will learn everything you need to know in order to maintain a budget and prepare delicious foods.

How to Make the Most Out of Your Next Visit to a Steakhouse

You might have had some really great experiences at your favorite steakhouses, but you could be wondering if there is anything that you can do to elevate the experience. These are a few different things that you can try if you want to make the most out of your next visit to a steakhouse.

Make Reservations

If you can, consider making reservations before visiting your favorite steakhouse. Then, you can ask for the table with the view or another table that you might prefer, and you can make sure that you and the others you are dining with don't have to wait too long for a seat, which can sometimes put a damper on the experience.

Pay Attention to the Different Cuts of Meat

Many steakhouses offer a variety of different cuts of steak, and they may offer other meats as well, such as chicken. A lot of steakhouse menus outline the differences between different cuts of meat; for example, they might mention how ribeye steaks are often well-marbled with fat, while they might point out that sirloins are often much leaner cuts of steak. They might advertise which of their cuts are the most tender or flavorful. Really pay attention to these details, and think about your own preferences based on your other experiences with steak. Then, you can choose a steak cut that is going to be right for you.

Consider Adding a Side to Your Steak

A lot of steakhouses allow you to order an accompaniment or topping for your steak. Some restaurants offer a blend of sauteed mushrooms, for example, while others offer lobster tails or shrimp scampi. You might actually find that you will enjoy the side just as much as you enjoy the steak.

Try a Few Different Sauces

In many cases, enjoying a good steak sauce with your steak can actually take your experience to the next level. Many steakhouses actually make their own sauces, too, so this can be yet another way to experience some of the delicious food that your favorite steakhouse has to offer. Consider asking for a small portion of several different types of sauces, if available. It can be fun and delicious to experiment with different sauces until you determine which one is your favorite.

Order the Right Drink

You might find that you will enjoy your steak and the rest of your meal much more if you have the right beverage with it. If you like to consume alcoholic beverages, consider asking for a wine or beer pairing suggestion that will go well with your meal. You might find that this is yet another way to treat yourself and to make your meal as enjoyable as possible.
